NEURAL CONTROL & CO-ORDINATION
1.Electrical synapses are rare in human system. 2.A very thin middle layer called arachnoid meninx surroun the brain. 3.Association areas are neither clearly sensory non motor and is responsible for complex functions like intersensory associations, memory and communication. 4.The afferent neuron receives signal from a sensory organ and transmits the impulse via a dorsal nerve root into the CNS. 5.The cerebrum wraps around a structuure called thalamus which is major coordinating centre for sensory and motor signalling. 6.Fibres of the tracts are covered with the myelin sheath, which cionstitute the inner part of cerebral hemisphere. 7.Co-ordination is the proces through which two or more organs interact and complement the function of each other. 8.The rise in the stimulus induced permeability to Na+ is extremely short-lined.It is quickly followed by rise in permeability to K+. 9.Transmission of impulses across electrical synapses is very similar to impulse conduction along a single axon. |
